We developed the Stratos together with experienced woodturners and engineers. Our aim was to create a mid-range woodturning lathe that combines new ideas with the tried and tested. The result is a bench that is ideal for beginners, advanced users, professionals and artists.
If you need more leeway for the realization of large workpieces, this is not a problem. The Stratos FU-230, with its solid cast iron design of bench bed, base frame, hand rest base, tailstock and headstock, provides the optimum basis for accommodating the additional bench bed for turning particularly large workpieces. Turning diameters of up to 800 mm or workpiece lengths of up to 1100 mm are no problem!
The interaction between the frequency inverter, motor and drive allows the machine to be operated smoothly and continuously over the entire speed range. By reversing the drive belt, which is easily accessible through a cover flap, a separate speed range covering speeds from 80 to 1350 rpm is available in addition to the standard speed range of 180 to 3700 rpm. This is particularly suitable for large, heavy and unbalanced workpieces. In addition to the standard motor brake, the frequency inverter is also equipped with a second, slow braking mode for large turning jobs.

We have focused on the following points in the development of the Stratos:
Especially smooth running when bowl, vase, long wood and fly turning
Exactly aligned tips as the best prerequisite for pen, miniature and long wood turning and for good drilling results
Large turning speed range on both pulleys: 80-1350 rpm on pulley no. 1 and 180-3700 rpm on pulley no. 2. This means that miniatures, bowls, vases and much more can be produced on pulley no. 2 without having to change the belt.
