Machine care accessories

The non-lacquered components of a woodturning machine - especially the bench bed, the tailstock quill and the spindle in the spindle head - are made of steel and can therefore corrode. To prevent this, we recommend regularly protecting components such as the bench bed, tailstock quill and cone as well as the spindle thread and cone against corrosion. We offer various machine care products in the Schulte online shop for this purpose. For example, we recommend the use of Metabo Waxilit lubricant for the bench bed. For the tailstock quill and cone as well as the spindle cone and spindle thread, on the other hand, you can use Weicon W44T.
Another important point in machine maintenance is the regular cleaning of the spindle and tailstock cone. When turning without an MK2 4-prong driver and a moving centre point, dirt and wood residues can accumulate here. If these become jammed between the centre punch and cone, the cone can be damaged, rendering the dogs and centre punch unusable. We recommend the use of an MK2 cone cleaner for this purpose.
