Clamp workpieces securely

Woodturning is a creative hobby with a lively, diverse material. Depending on what you are turning and the conditions of your material, you will need to clamp it differently. Options for clamping materials include, for example

  • Classic turning between the centres: The workpiece is clamped between the spindle and tailstock using centres and dogs.
  • Clamping with the chuck: The chuck sits on the spindle. With its help and additional clamping jaws, you can securely fasten and process the piece of wood.
  • Fastening blanks with face plates: A face plate is a plate with drilled holes that can be attached to the spindle. This allows you to securely attach blanks to the lathe, especially for initial rough preparatory work.
  • Clamp natural edge blanks with a pin chuck: The outside of a tree is difficult to mount on a lathe using conventional means due to its semi-circular shape. A pin chuck is worthwhile for this purpose.
  • Reworking with faceplate segments: Almost finished objects can be reworked with the help of face plate segments. The rubber knobs clamp shells, for example, without leaving marks on the workpiece. Face plate segments should only be used for the very last details on slow turning machines.

Large and small tool rests for every project

Tool rests are always included with woodturning machines. However, these are not always equally suitable for all projects. In our range at Drechselbedarf Schulte, you will therefore find large and small tool rests in various shapes. You are sure to find exactly what you are looking for here!

Drill chuck for the woodturning machine

Whether you are turning writing implements or pepper mills. Blanks have to be drilled very often. You can do this on a pillar drill or directly on the woodturning machine. A drill chuck with an MK2 cone is recommended for this, so that the drill can be clamped directly in the tailstock. The advantage of drilling on the lathe is that you can always work in the centre and very precisely. You are sure to find the right drill chuck in our online shop!

Adapters for woodturning machines

If you need an adapter for your woodturning machine, you've come to the right place. This may be the case, for example, if you have a chuck but it is not compatible with the thread of your woodturning machine. We also offer extension adapters and sleeves to enable you to position the workpieces further away from the tailstock and headstock. The reduction sleeves, on the other hand, are used, for example, to use an MK2 driver in an MK3 cone.

Sanding disc

Instead of buying a sanding machine, you can also simply use a sanding disc and sanding tables on the lathe. This allows you to carry out the following tasks, for example:

  • Round off corners
  • Remove small corners and edges in the wood
  • Deburring edges
  • Shaping wood
  • and much more

In addition to a large 300 mm sanding disc for screwing onto the spindle, our range also includes a smaller, practical model for clamping onto 50 mm standard jaws.

Machine care and accessories

When woodturning, your tools and machines are exposed to constant stress and the influence of dirt, dust and moisture. When turning with wet wood, your machine can corrode in no time at all, chips can get stuck in the cone and damage it. Regular maintenance of your machine is therefore essential. We have all the products you need to care for your woodturning machine.
