Nourishes and protects your wood, penetrates deep into the wood and creates a water-repellent surface. 100% natural from tung oil, natural tree resins and beeswax. Made in Germany.
Water-repellent surfaces can be achieved with the wood cream from König Holz und Harz. It is therefore ideal for bowls, drinking vessels, chopping boards and other objects that come into contact with liquids in the home. The wood protection with natural ingredients protects against soiling and penetrating moisture. The wood cream gives turned cups, goblets, bowls, wooden furniture and wooden toys a silky matt, natural shine without discoloring the wood.
With the wood cream from König Holz und Harz, which is composed of natural oils, waxes and resins, you can treat your workpieces with natural, traditional raw materials. When applied, the oil penetrates deep into the wood pores and solidifies them as it hardens. The beeswax and tree resin form a stable, elastic, dirt and water-repellent layer on the wood surface. The impregnated wood surface is optimally protected against liquids and moisture. Due to the absence of chemical additives or solvents, the surface is food-safe. This makes the wood cream ideal for children's toys and wooden workpieces such as drinking cups, goblets, bowls, ladles or spoons.
If a treated surface is soiled by food residue, for example, it can simply be wiped off again, making the wood cream ideal for worktops and dining tables.

Application of wood cream
Condition of the wood before applying the wood cream
- The wood should be dry for processing, i.e. have a moisture content of 10 - 15 %
- Hardwoods are ideally suited, fine-pored hardwoods are best for waterproof containers
- Old coatings must be removed, the wood must be able to absorb
- The wood can be pre-treated with König Holz und Harz linseed and tung oil varnish or hard wax oil
.
- The surface should be sanded to grain 240
- Sanding dust should be removed before application
Application on the woodturning machine
Once your workpiece has been prepared, apply a thin layer of wood cream using a lint-free cloth at room temperature and with the machine stationary. Leave the workpiece for 24 hours and wipe off the excess if necessary. Repeat the process a second and third time. If no film remains after the third application, the wood is still absorbent and a fourth coat should be applied.
The wood can be polished before the third application.
After 3-4 days (or even a week depending on external influences), your object will be hardened and completely water-repellent. Please note that the cream is not suitable for standing water vessels. In flower vases, for example, the wood cream will eventually wear off.
Apply wood cream by hand to tables, worktops, chopping boards or similar
Prepare your workpiece as described above. The best way to apply the wood cream to larger surfaces is with a spatula. Spread the cream on the table and leave the excess. Repeat the process after 24 hours. For an even better layer, you can also repeat the process a third or fourth time.
Note on the storage of opened containers
As the wood cream+ is free from chemical additives, it reacts with the oxygen in the room air. Therefore, make sure that the cream is evenly distributed in the container and, if necessary, place a cloth or cellophane film/freshness film on the surface. The container should also always be well sealed. If a skin does form, it can be removed from the surface and used again to seal the surface of the cream after use.
