Mica colour pigments for epoxy resin from Drechselbedarf Schulte

If you are looking for unusual colours and effects, you should use mica pigments. These powders, also known as mica, belong to the so-called mica group. A group of minerals consisting of layered silicates. Their eponymous layered structure gives them their characteristic colour. Depending on the incidence of light and viewing direction, they shine in different shades and create a mother-of-pearl lustre and iridescent effect. This is created by the different coloured coatings on the top and bottom of the individual colour pigments.

Mica pigments for radiant colours and shimmering effects in epoxy resin

The shimmering mica colours are among the most popular and most frequently used pigment types for epoxy resin. The shimmering colour pigments for epoxy resins are available in numerous variations and designs. For a better overview, we have grouped them into various matching groups / types.

KS Colour pigments for epoxy resin

These mica / mica colour pigments are currently available in 10 different colour variations. Black, red, yellow, brown, dark green, green, orange, purple, blue and sky blue. Processed in epoxy resin, the fine pigments reflect the light with a silvery lustre. The colour changes its brightness and intensity depending on the viewing angle.

KS Gold colour pigments for epoxy resin

In the gold version, you can choose from four different pigments. Abstruse Gold, Olympic Gold, Maya Gold and Flash Gold. The golden base tone varies in brightness and colouring from reddish orange to warm yellow gold. The mixture of iron oxide and mica/shimmer pigments coated on both sides provide a special, metallic lustre. In combination with epoxy resin, a unique effect is created with a depth that makes the surface appear almost three-dimensional.

KS Chameleon pigments for epoxy resin

The colour pigments, which initially appear white, are quite something. Depending on the incidence of light and viewing angle, these mica colour pigments in the epoxy resin shimmer in completely different colours. This gives the impression that the surface changes colour, similar to a chameleon. The white pigments change their colours into the shades Golden Green (greenish), Red Golden (reddish), Violet Red (purple) and Blue Violet (bluish).

KS Synstar pigments for epoxy resin

The pigment in the Synstar series stands for radiant purity with extra glitter. This synthetic pigment offers many advantages compared to natural mica. The higher purity, no contamination due to natural irregularities in depth, better weather resistance, better gloss, colour saturation and more stability, even at high temperatures.

KS Fluorescent colour pigments for epoxy resin

These neon-coloured pigments ensure that your epoxy resins have plenty of luminosity. There are 8 signal colours to choose from. Blue, yellow green, green, purple, magenta, orange, pink, red. The pigments colour epoxy resins opaque and without a metallic gloss effect or an optical depth effect. These are not phosphorescent colours that glow in the dark!

KS Photochrome Color to Color colour pigments for epoxy resin

These pigments are an absolute highlight! They react to sunlight and change colour in a matter of seconds. There are 5 different colours available. Blue to purple, yellow to purple, yellow to red, green to grey, green to red. The highlight is that these pigments return to their previous colour when the sunlight fades.

Opaque and brilliant colours

If you cast your own blanks for the production of writing instruments, other kits or bowls, the colour pigments in the right concentration ensure that the epoxy resin is opaque. In application, this means that the golden brass sleeve of a writing instrument kit does not show through the epoxy resin pen blank.

Correct dosing of pigments for colouring epoxy resin

The pigments are very economical. 5 grams of pigment are sufficient for 3 - 4 litres of epoxy resin.
If you are working with dry pigments, you can theoretically mix the pigments 1:1 with the resin. The proportion has no further influence on the setting of the resin.
When dosing, you should ensure that the amount of pigments added influences the opacity, i.e. the opacity of the resin. The less you use, the more translucent the resin will be.

Storage and storage Neat and practical

Our pigments are available as a set or individually. The pigments are packaged in sets of 5 g each in resealable zip-lock bags and individually in practical 20 g to 30 g tins.

Wide range of applications.

Mix the pigments together or mix the colours in different containers and then pour them. Use clearly separated lines or allow the colour mixtures to blend into each other by gently stirring them in the mould. This allows you to create beautiful colour gradients.
