On average, a chisel loses its sharpness after around five to 15 minutes and needs to be resharpened. However, you do not necessarily need to switch on your machine straight away. A file is also sufficient for re-sharpening. In our online shop, you will find diamond files designed for this purpose in various grit sizes and shapes.
You can use these to easily resharpen and deburr all turning tools made from HSS, tool steel and Pro-PM. The files are also suitable for kitchen knives, scissors and other cutting tools. The round conical models are ideal for ring irons and hooks. Depending on what you are currently working with, you will find the right file here.
But beware: As good as files are, they are no substitute for a grinder in the long run. As a rule, you can resharpen your tools three to five times by hand. Most machines - whether wet or double grinders - are based on grinding discs on which you sharpen your irons. Over time, the stone can become uneven and worn, especially with corundum versions.
