Eco Line
The affordable woodturning knives from Crown were developed in collaboration with our experienced woodturners for beginners. However, they are also aimed at all advanced and professional woodturners who are looking for high-quality knives made in England!
All blades in this series are made from HSS or M2 steel. This means that the woodturning knives in the ECO Line series are in no way inferior to the quality features of conventional HSS irons from Crown and are completely identical in their handling.
The low price is made possible by optimizing the production and final treatment while maintaining the same quality! The surface of the steel is given a black coating and is thus additionally protected against corrosion. The handles are made from unstained beech.

Sanding:
Fingernail bevel: for roughing cross grain, for many bowl shapes and pulling cuts. The back-ground flanks can hook if not held correctly, so this grind is suitable for advanced and more experienced woodturners.
Blade width:
What does the double dimension of the blade tubes mean? Example blade tube 10/13: The larger number stands for the diameter of the steel (13 mm) and the smaller number for the distance from the cutting edge to the opposite outer edge (10 mm). The manufacturers of shell tubes always state the distance from the cutting edge to the opposite outer edge. Dealers specify either the distance or the outside diameter. We have decided to specify both dimensions.
