The Crown CRYO bowl tube with standard bevel is ideal for all cross-cutting work such as bowls and tins. It offers a high level of safety in handling, as the special shape and precise grinding significantly reduce the risk of hooking.
Cryo steel from CROWN
CROWN uses a special cryogenic process to manufacture CRYO tools. The HSS steel is cooled to minus 185°C, resulting in an extremely fine, tough-elastic structure. This has the following advantages:
- Longer service life
- Sharper cutting edge
- Easier sharpening and less burr formation
- Suitable for soft and hard woods
Scrapers are not available in the CRYO version, as a burr is desired on the cutting edge of these tools
Grinding
The standard bevel is ideal for all crosscut work. Thanks to its shape and precise grinding, the risk of snagging is minimal.
Blade width
What does the double dimension of the shell tubes mean? For example, bowl tube 10/13: The larger number stands for the diameter of the steel (13 mm), the smaller number for the distance from the cutting edge to the opposite outer edge (10 mm). We indicate both dimensions for better orientation.
