Centre and driver

Centre  and drives are the simplest accessories for working "between the centres" of a lathe. The drive is inserted into the spindle and sets the workpiece in motion with the help of the teeth. Thelive centre sits in the tailstock and holds the workpiece in place. If you buy a woodturning machine from us in the Schulte Drechselbedarf online shop, centre  and drives are usually included in the scope of delivery. However, you will also find many other professional equipment options here. Take a look around and simply order what you need

KS Deluxe

High-quality turning machine accessories made of stainless steel....

Items 1 - 1 of 1

Driver in various designs

The classic 4-prong drive, which is included with most woodturning machines, has an MK2 taper and - as the name suggests - 4 prongs that drive the workpiece. In our range you will find such dogs from our own brand KS as well as Record Power and in various versions from Hager. We also stock drivers with an M33 thread for screwing onto the spindle - here, too, you can rely on the quality of Hager and our own KS brand!

Another variant of multi-tooth drivers is the Robert Sorby Stebcenter. This has a spring-loaded centre point and a serrated ring with sharpened points. These hold the workpiece in place without you having to hammer in the centre point, as is usually the case. In combination with the spring-loaded centre point, it also protects the wood from damage. We offer this model both for the chuck and with an MK2 cone.

Travelling centre punch points in various designs

The travelling centre point sits in the tailstock and is pressed against the workpiece. In the simplest sense, this is a centre with an MK2 cone that sits in the ball bearing. You can find such variants from our own brand KS as well as Record Power and Hager. We also offer a special version with an integrated thrust ring from our KS brand.

Just as we offer you a Stebcenter driver, there is also a travelling centre punch from the Robert Sorby brand. This also has a pressure point and a serrated rim with sharpened points. In combination with the multi-tooth centre punch, the centre punch is ideal if you want to turn eccentrically.

Travelling centre punch sets

In addition to the classic travelling centre punches, we also offer comprehensive sets for a wide range of applications:

  • The KS centre punch deluxe set consists of a kit system with many different attachable centres. For example, we offer holders for ballpoint pens, a hardened, long-life point, centre punches with pressure ring, extended centre punches and much more.
  • The Oneway Livecenter has a pressure ring and the option of using interchangeable tips. The scope of delivery also includes a large funnel for clamping balls, for example. You also have the option of equipping the live centre with an M33 adapter and thus attaching a chuck to the tailstock.
  • The Teknatool Live Centre is also equipped with interchangeable centres and a funnel for clamping balls.

As you can see, the selection at Drechselbedarf Schulte is wide and has everything a woodturner's heart desires. Just take a look around and order all the centre punches and dogs you need for your woodturning machine!
