Axminster

The English company Axminster has been designing four-jaw chucks for woodturning machines since 1984. They offer the right chuck size for every requirement at an excellent price-performance ratio. The chucks and accessories are CNC machined in England and developed in co-operation with experienced woodturners.

Manufactured in Axminster, Great Britain

Designed, developed and manufactured entirely in Axminster's own state of the art production facility. This gives Axminster complete control over production to ensure that the chucks produced are superior in terms of quality, accuracy and longevity.

Made to last

Moisture in wood and workshops can cause standard chucks to corrode over time. That's why the chucks and clamping jaws are made entirely of stainless steel, which prevents them from rusting.

Super precision as standard

The chucks and jaws are precisely manufactured from a single piece, ensuring a high level of accuracy. Chucks from other manufacturers, for example, are often coated to compensate for tolerances that arise during production. A process that is far less precise.

By machining the base body and cutting the thread in a single operation, concentricity is absolutely guaranteed. The jaws are also machined to an accuracy of 2 micrometres. All these points ensure that Axminster products have a high degree of precision and accuracy.

Smooth operation

The chucks have been designed to sit as close to the headstock as the spindle will allow. This minimises vibrations and ensures extremely smooth running, which enables faster and cleaner cuts. This is not only crucial for turning all workpieces, but also for the headstock bearings.

In addition, some chucks are equipped with an ASR run-out protection groove.
